Yoga at the River’s Edge – 2018 Series Info!

The 2018 season of Yoga at the River’s Edge, sponsored by the North and South Rivers Watershed Association, will begin on Saturday, June 9. This program is now in its 22nd year! Weekly classes, taught by certified yoga teachers will be held on Saturday mornings at various sites along the North and South Rivers. Each class will feature meditation, gentle stretching, breathing technique, hatha yoga postures, and guided relaxation. All classes are outdoors. Please note that that the sites are not wheelchair accessible. All proceeds benefit NSRWA. There is a suggested donation of $10 per class for NSRWA members, and $15 for the general public. Two and a half years ago, Studio143 yoga instructor, Cait Simmons, reached out to studio owner, Cindia Norton, and asked if she could plan a retreat. At the time, it was the middle of New England winter and she had a baby at home and was itching for a weekend away that included all her favorite things: yoga, warm weather, delicious food, outdoor adventures, road tripping, and great people. A note from Jen I have such gratitude for my life that it creates a desire to want to serve my community and beyond. Karen Hirsh, a Scituate resident and friend, who works for the mission, has inspired 16 people from Scituate to join her in Malawi this June.  This is an incredible opportunity that is not lost on me. Opportunity is a gift. My son, Matthew, along with Cindia Norton and her son will be on the journey to Malawi.  This mission is an orphanage and school servicing 150 orphans.
